Dig into Rain Gardens- 1:1 Coaching Sessions with the Experts
Event Dates
- Saturday, 03/02/2024
Event Description
Thinking of incorporating a rain garden or downspout garden into your landscape, but have some questions or don’t know where to start? We can help! Rain gardens protect our local waters by capturing stormwater runoff from roofs and other hard surfaces and allowing it to slowly soak into the ground rather than wash into our lakes, rivers and streams.
Dane County and the Madison Area Municipal Stormwater Partnership (MAMSWaP) are offering a limited number of 30 minute one-on-one rain garden coaching sessions for Dane County residents this spring. Participants will meet individually with a rain garden expert to look at their specific site using an online mapping application, determine drainage patterns and select an optimal location for a rain garden. Experts will also assist participants with sizing, plant selection and provide resources on site preparation and installation.
Time: 30 minute sessions from 8:00 to 12:15PM (8-8:30, 8:45-9:15, 9:30-10, 10:15-10:45, 11-11:30, 11:45-12:15, 12:30-1:00)
Cost: $20 with an opportunity for residents from MAMSWaP communities to receive a reimbursement of up to $50 for native plants purchased through the Plant Dane Native Plant Program and planted in the rain or downspout garden.
Registration required. To reserve a spot visit the Event Order page.
